الملخص :
ولد الدکتور/ محمد عبدالمنعم العربي، في مدينة (الواسطى) بمحافظة بني سويف في شهر رمضان من عام خمسة وأربعين وثلاثمائة وألف من الهجرة النبوية الموافق للثلاثين من مارس عام سبعة وعشرين وتسعمائة وألف من الميلاد، وأکمل تعليمه الأولى بمدينة بني سويف، حيث استقرت بها أسرته.
وتطلّع في المرحلة المبکرة من عمره إلى الدراسة في الأزهر الشريف بالقاهرة، إذ کان إقليم بني سويف آنذاک خالياً من المعاهد الأزهرية، ونظراً لتعلقه بعلماء الأزهر من الوعاظ –کأبيه- تم التحاقه بالمعهد الابتدائي الثانوي الأزهري بالقاهرة عام 1940م، وکان يرتحل إلى أهله في الإجازة الصيفية کل عام، حيث يصطحبه أبوه مع إخوته إلى المساجد، لحضور جلسات الدروس الدينية عقب صلاة المغرب إلى ما بعد صلاة العشاء، ثم بقى بعد ذلک في القاهرة طوال العام، مما ساعده في التردد على المحافل الأدبية والدينية، ودار الکتب الکبرى، لذلک اجتاز دراسته الأزهرية بسهولة ويسر، فحصل على الابتدائية عام 1944م، وعلى الثانوية عام 1949م إلى أن نال الإجازة، العالية عام 1953م، کما حصل على دبلوم التربية العالي من جامعة عين شمس عام 1954م، ليتأهل بذلک للعمل في التدريس بوزارة التربية والتعليم، حيث نهض بذلک خمسا وعشرين سنة، ظهر فيها نبوغه في قول الشعر الغنائي والتمثيلي خاصة، وتزوج خلال ذلک کريمة الأستاذ أحمد شفيع السيد، وحصل على الماجستير ثم الدکتوراه عام 1978م.
انتقل الدکتور/ محمد عبدالمنعم العربي إلى التدريس في جامعة الأزهر في شهر يونيو عام 1979م، واستقر بالإقامة في الزقازيق، حيث يوجد مقر العمل في کلية اللغة العربية جامعة الأزهر بها التي انتقل إليها من کلية اللغة العربية بالمنوفية.
وأُعير خلال عمله بوزارة التربية والتعليم إلى السودان لمدة أربع سنوات، ثم أُعير خلال عمله بجامعة الأزهر إلى الجامعة الإسلامية بالمدينة المنورة لمدة ثلاث سنوات، وترقى من مدرس للأدب والنقد إلى أستاذ مساعد، ثم إلى أستاذ عام 1988م حتى أحيل إلى المعاش عام 1992م، ليعمل بعد ذلک أستاذاً متفرغاً إلى وفاته في الثاني والعشرين من سبتمبر عام 2019م، بعد أن ترک تراثاً ضخماً من الشعر، ومؤلفات في الأدب والنقد وغيرها، ومن أبرزها ما يلي:
1-  الومضات –ديوان شعر.
2- هرقل عظيم الروم -مسرحية شعرية.
3- النجاشي ملک الحبشة -مسرحية نثرية.
4- المسرحية الإسلامية في مصر في العصر الحديث –رسالة دکتوراه لم تطبع.
5- مجموعة من کتب تاريخ الأدب والنصوص.
6- مجموعة من کتب النقد الأدبي.
7- مجموعة من کتب المناهج الأدبية وطرق التدريس.
8- إضافة إلى بعض المؤلفات الأخرى، التي لم تطبع، رحمه الله رحمة واسعة.

                                                                                                                                                            Abstract :
Professor: Mohammed Abdel Moneam Al Arabi was born in “AlWasta” town in Bani Swaf governorate in the month of Ramadan in 1345 Higri, March 30 1927, then completed his initial education in Bani Swaf city where his family settled.
At his early age, he looked forward to learning in “Al Azhar” in Cairo as Bani Sweaf didn’t have Al Azhar institution at that time and as he was related to AlAzhar scientists especially preachers like his father, he joined the Primary institution in Cairo in 1940. During summer holidays he returned to his family every year. His father used to take him with his brothers to mosques to attend the sessions of religious lessons after the Sunset Prayer until night prayer, and then after that he remained in Cairo the whole year and this helped him to follow the religious and literary events and Book houses which were big and famous so, he passed his Azhar studies easily and simply. He got his primary certificate in 1944, then his secondary certificate in 1949then he got his great degree in 1953. Also he got the diploma of high education from Ein Shams university in 1954 to qualify and work in teaching for the ministery of education where he worked for twenty five years. During that time, he developed himself and became so good at acting poetry and he got married the daughter of his teacher Ahmed Shafeea Alsayed and then he got his master degree then PhD in 1978. Professor Mohammed moved to teach At AlAzhar University in June in 1979 and he settled in Zagazig where his faculty was, the faculty of the Arabic language then he left it and went to the faculty of the Arabic language in Monofia.
Then he traveled during his work in the ministry of education to Sudan for four years, then he went during his work for Al Azhar University to the Islamic University in Al Madina Al Monawra for three years, he got promoted from a literature and criticism teacher to an assistant teacher then he became a teacher in 1988 until he retired in 1992 and then he worked as a vacant teacher until his death in September, 22^nd 2019 after leaving a great heritage of poetry and also some writings in literature and criticism as
1- Blinks- a poetry book.
2- Herekl- the Great Roman, poetic play.
3- Al Nagashi the king of Etheopea prose play.
4- The Islamic play in Egypt and modern age.
5- A Collection of books of the history of poetry and texts.
6- A Collection of literary criticism.
7- A collection of literary curriculua and methodology.
8- Some other writings which haven’t been published, May Allah forgive him.
